Ladies and Gents, the moment you have been waiting for is here!!!! Just about a year ago i heard about this new consignment boutique coming to the area by the name of d'trespa. So i just happen to be in the homewood soho area on business, and i promise you it was like i was directed in that area for a reason. As i walked in i was greeted by a very lovely young lady by the name of LaRoyce Marsh,and she proceed in tell how it was the first day of opening and what the store specialized in.So about a year later I gain a new friend that happened to work at D'trespa and she was telling me about how the store has grown and the new items that they have in.So, when i tell you they have everything you need,believe me, THEY HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED!!! This is not your regular overprice junk consignment shop, this is top notch!! They have everything from Prada,Gucci,Ferrragamo,Versace, you name it and they probably have it. Being that wearing second hand and vintage is a big craze right now,im going to go out on the limb(in my tina marie voice) and say they probably have the best and strongest vintage/second selection i have seen since i've been in Birmingham. I'm not talking about the great buy at the thrift, im talking that statement piece,that conversation piece,that great brooche ,that awesome shoe, that you need to complete your wardrobe.As being that Magic City Classic and other events are right around the corner,this would be that perfect place to get that one of a kind vintage blazer(for guys) or vintage dress(for ladies), so that you can avoid the look of you and about 30 more people wear that same polo shirt or the same BEBE dress,believe it happens....With all that being said check them out,the enviroment is lovely, great customer service and the product is second to none and when you get a chance check out the stores pages on facebook:dtrespa consignment boutique and twitter@dtrespaconsignmentboutique........ Marshall Anthony was started in January 2009. It was spawn from pure necessity. With a vast collection of neckties, Darhel decided to venture into bow ties were the selection was lacking variety.So, he dusted off an old sewing machine his mother had stowed away for over a decade and thats when the magic was found. He began a process of crafting bowties out of some of his older neckties until he perfected the craft and added a few bows to the collection. Darhel has divide his brand into two distinct label collections,Premium Collection & Diamond Collection. Premium Collection sets the Marshall Anthony standard, with handmade pieces of refined classical style. The Diamond Collection boasts a more aggressive but inherently elegant style with the pairing of complimenting fabrics on reversible bow ties, finer fabrics like cashmere, and deluxe designs like the seven fold necktie. Darhel explains,that his vision for Marshall Anthony is full menswear lifestyle brand. A haven for meticulously styled gentleman and those seeking to find their own personal style."

What I love most about Mr. Mays story,is that he found a passion for something that he love and went after it. Not worrying about what others may think about it, the mindset that he has gained, is that if i love it they will adore it. Being a man of this nature,like Darhel, i too started on a old dusty sewing machine that my mom had stowed away,and who would have thought that it would have brought Darhel this far. Alittle background on Mr. Hilton, known as Ralphie money man,Norman was one of the original men to create what we now know as the "off the rack suit".In 1966 Norman was hitting his stride. Orders were coming in like never before. The influence and renown of Norman Hilton Clothes had reached almost mythic proportions. It was the “in” thing, sold in every better respected shop in the country. The blazers have a higher 3/2 roll like many Hiltons did. The lapel roll is a true roll, not a foldover. Great narrow lapels, partially lined, lap seams, hook vent. Plus a removable throat latch with stowaway MOP buttons on the interior--fantastic!

Brogues, often known as wingtips in the United States, are low-heeled shoes made of heavy leather, originating in Scotland and Ireland as a coarse, usually untanned leather shoe. The term wingtip derives from the toe cap pattern, which forms a W and resembles the profile of spreading bird wings.Through out my life i have ran away from the wing tip for various reason. I thought the shoe was very outside the box and somewhat a shoe that pretty much stands on its own, which means i kouldnt wear what i wanted to. But, through the years and me coming into my love for italian fashion, i have grown to love the style of shoe. It also has become the second group of shoes that i have more than two colors of. The tradition brogue only came in cordovan and black,but thanks to a kouple of well known shoe designers, the wingtip is presented in worlds of kolors,which gets the young gents into a past times favorite.I usually wear mines with shorts or jeans rolled up and no socks of course!

Well ,first started off,everyone one knows how i love tailored clothing,savile row,and italian tailoring.A couple of months ago a friend sent me a link to a documentary called "savile row". I was so intrigue but the doc that i have download all four parts of it and have watched it numerals of times.when i first read up on Mr.Ramroop, it really got to me,because here's a man, a black man at that who profess in his life that he would be a tailor on Londons' Savile Row, which was a district of all white tailors.Right then i seen a reflection of myself.i always told myself that my company will be bigger than the ralph lauren's and the brooks brothers, because my God is a God of extraordinary achievements.So, yes I am so happy to have the opportunity, to present to you Mr Andrew Ramroop. He has made history by becoming the first black man to own a business in the formerly all-white Savile Row. "From as early as I can remember, I wanted to create clothes, and at the age of seven I made my first pair of tiny "pants" as we called them in Trinidad, as the Americans call trousers."-Mr.Ramroop.

By the age of 11, he was hanging around the local tailor's shop in his holidays, and they took him on as an apprentice before he was 14, and then when he was 17 he was on the ship sailing for Southampton. During this meteoric development of his career, he had proved an apt and willing student, so that when he arrived in London , by then 18, he was taken on by well-known Huntsman. He enrolled for a full 3-year course at the London College of Fashion to cover all aspects of bespoke tailoring. "It came at a time when I was working for Maurice Sedwell and it was a great temptation in terms of finance and other benefits. By 1988, he had bought the tailoring business of Maurice Sedwell, becoming the first black business owner on Savile Row. Purple has become a big part in my closet, mainly because of how it plays on my skin tone, and also, its a kolor that alot of men are scare of kinda like the pink epidemic. I am still in amazement of how he can have so many beautifully present outfits worn at once, yet never seems to cross the line into a "i got dress in the dark" outfit or as we say in the south a hot a$$ mess.I would step out to say that he does not see his style choices as out of the ordinary, as some would see them, but instead as necessary accessories to complete the outfit and thats what its all about doing you. Paisley print is an easily recognized pattern that resembles a crooked tear drop or half of a yin-yang. A very popular print on all sorts of clothing and fashion accessories during the 1960s, paisley print is commonly found today on men’s ties and handkerchiefs. Though paisley print became popular when it appeared in the shops of London's Carnaby Street during the mod fashion frenzy, its origin can be traced back to India.Though the recognizable paisley print pattern was originally crafted by Indian artisans, it was brought to Scotland in the early 19th century, where it received its name. Paisley print was named after the Scottish town of Paisley, where printed cotton and wool fabrics were heavily manufactured. I fell in love with this jacket the first time i layed eyes on it. It has a golden yellow based and print and some type of funky light blue (which probably komes from the age) trimming the paisley print. I truly wish that more things were made like this, because i feel that as young men today we are so quick to accept trends and whats hot now.Klearly, the Gent that was adorn in this lovely kashmere blazer, didnt kare about what people thought about him and his style. Unfortunely, its just to small for my wide football player shoulders, so i'm going to do some work on it and give it to a good friend of mines, who i know would take kare and appreciated it like i would.
